Binghamton, NY, December11, 2009 - In this joyful and blessed holiday season, where love and reverence for Jesus, born of the chaste Mary, is widely celebrated by Christians the world over, the United Muslim-Christian Forum (UMCF) has embraced this precious occasion as a time for Muslims to acquaint those of their Christian brethren and the world, who are not aware of the fact that Muslims, too, share tremendous love for the blessed Jesus. This year, UMCF is sponsoring their 1st annual celebration of Jesus, Son of Mary, on the 27th of December from 2pm to 4pm at the Days Inn Front Street in Binghamton, New York, observing the theme "A Muslim Christian Unity Celebration of Jesus: His Birth, Character and Contributions to Humanity".
For the past two years Muslims, Christians and members of other faith groups have joined together in Binghamton, New York, under the banner of UMCF to commemorate the birth of the Holy Last Messenger, Muhammad and his impact on the world. On December 27th, Muslims will shed light on the esteemed role of Jesus, son of Mary, as exhibited in the Holy Quran- the only book other than the Bible that verifies the existence of Jesus, defends his blessed mother from false allegations of slander and even contains a chapter entitled, "Maryam", devoted to his mother Mary and his miraculous birth. Members of the public, press and media are invited to witness the devotees of these two great religions as they celebrate, in unity, their mutual love for the blessed Jesus.
The United Muslim Christian Forum, an interfaith organization, was founded in upstate New York and stands on the unshakeable principle ‘Mankind is the Family of God', belief in the One Almighty Creator, reverence of the Ten Commandments and fulfillment of the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."
