Rally for World Peace
Friday, 23 May 2008 00:00
The United Muslim-Christian Forum (UMCF) is holding a “Rally for World Peace” at:
DAG HAMMARSKJOLD PLAZA
1ST AVENUE & 47TH STREET
NEW YORK CITY
(Across the street from The United Nations)
Saturday, May 31, 2008 11am – 3pm
Busloads of Muslims, Christians, members of other faith groups and peace advocates from around the nation are expected to gather and highlight the senselessness of war; particularly the loss of life, property, rape, torture and hunger that devastates all afflicted nations. UMCF hopes to further open the doors of dialogue and cooperation between Muslims and Christians who have a shared value system built on the foundation of The Ten Commandments. This commonality demands action to put an end to the devastation of war by coming together in unity.
The UMCF is appealing to all advocates of peace, interfaith and humanitarian groups, to join hands and raise a collective voice for world peace. Much of the world finds itself at war and if this horrible trend is allowed to proceed unabated the inevitable results will lead to the destruction of the world.
Religious leaders, elected officials, and representatives of supportive organizations will declare their commitment to opposing war and their pursuit of world peace.
